FAQs

Various paintbrushes with colorful paint on a white background.

How do I book?

Booking is simple—just head to our Book Online page, enter the total number of guests including any non-painters (May be limited in busy times), choose your date and time, and fill in your details. A small studio fee is payable upon booking. You’ll receive a confirmation email once booked—please check everything carefully and have a quick look in your junk folder just in case!

Why do you charge a studio fee?

We charge a studio fee so that we can keep our pottery and wooden items as affordable as possible. Many studios build this into their item prices. We prefer to separate it out so that you only pay a small fee to enjoy the full studio experience and then pay for what you have painted at the end. Unlike many other studios we also offer up to 2.5 hrs to paint, relax and enjoy the experience, without feeling rushed. We also offer a return to paint if you haven’t finished your piece (studio fees apply).

The studio fee covers:

You reserved table in our cosy space

Use of paint, tools and equipment

Glaze and kiln firing

Aprons

Guidance by our friendly team

Table service for food and drinks

BYOB for special occasions - glasses provided.

How does it work?

When you arrive we will settle you down at a table and you can start by choosing your piece from our wide range of pottery and ducks (as well as other wooden items). We have a vast selection of items available to paint….. from mugs and plates to figurines, money boxes, and fun novelty items, wooden ducks, plaques, chopping boards etc.

Once you’ve picked your favourite, take a seat and we will then provide you with instructions on how to prepare and paint your item, which is unique to the item chosen. You can then enjoy painting at your own pace which is why we allow up to 2.5 hrs per painting session to ensure you can unwind and fully immerse yourself into the experience.

Due to the size of the Studio, we provide table menus for food and drinks and our kind team will ensure you are taken care of at the table whilst you relax and enjoy the session.

We provide all the tools, inspiration, and guidance you need—and we’re always nearby if you’d like a little help or advice.

How much does it cost?

Prices vary depending on the item you choose, typically ranging from £5 to £60 for larger pieces, so there is something for every budget.

We regularly update our stock, so there’s always something new to discover. If you’re looking for specific prices before your visit, please feel free to get in touch.

For online bookings or bookings via the telephone the studio fee is payable on booking.

You can also book by popping into the shop where we will be able to book your session in person. The Studio fee is payable on booking,

We do accept walk ins, depending on availability. The studio fee will be taken on arrival,

Payment for items painted and food and drink purchases, are to be paid for at the end of the session.

Do you have a Cafe or Bar?

Yes! We have a café in the studio. Due to the size of the studio menus are provided on the tables and we offer table service. We offer a selection of coffee, teas, fruit and herbal teas, soft drinks, and a selection of biscuits, snacks and locally made cakes.

We do not have a fully licensed bar, however you may bring your own alcoholic drinks for evening and weekend sessions…… perfect for making your visit even more enjoyable.

Can we bring our own food and drinks?

We kindly ask that you don’t bring your own food or soft drinks. We offer a lovely range of refreshments at reasonable prices, and as a small business, every purchase truly supports us—thank you!

As above you may BYOB in the evenings and at weekends. Please do be courteous and respectful of others around you as we want to provide a fun yet calm environment For everyone.

Are Dogs allowed?

Well-behaved dogs are very welcome in the studio!, Although we please ask that you are considerate of others in the studio and try and avoid bringing dogs in at busy times.

What happens after we’ve finished painting?

Once you’ve completed your masterpiece, we’ll take care of the rest. Your pottery will be left to dry, then glazed and fired in our kiln—transforming it into a beautiful, glossy, finished piece ready for collection.

If you choose to paint a Wooden duck (or other wooden item) or ceramic item that does not require glazing, then you can take these home with you after.

When will my items be ready?

Turnaround times  for glazed pottery vary depending on demand. During quieter periods, items are usually ready within around 2 weeks, while busier times may take up to 3–4 weeks. Please check the website header for the most up-to-date information.

All other items painted will be ready to take with you at the end of the session.

We will send you a text message as soon as your items are ready to collect. We’ll hold them for up to one month for you.

Is the Studio accessible?

The Studio itself does not have stairs although to use the WC, there are a few steps you would need to go down. An accessible wash hand basin however is available in the studio and Food and drinks are table service.

Is the Pottery dishwasher & microwave safe?

We recommend handwashing your items to keep them looking their best for longer—they’re special pieces you’ve taken time to create. We also advise avoiding the microwave, as pottery can become extremely hot.

Important:

If microwaved, your pottery may become very hot—please handle with care and avoid microwaving where possible.

What should I wear?

We do provide aprons although still recommend wearing old clothes that you do not mind getting at bit messy!

Do i need to have painted before?

Absolutely not! Whether you are a total beginner or an artist, you will find the whole experience enjoyable and relaxing and will come out with a piece that is truly unique.

Important - Please Read

We take the very best of care with your items that are left for us to glaze. However, very rarely an item may become damaged in the kiln. Should this happen then we will contact you and provide a voucher towards another session. We do not offer a cash or card refund.

We kindly request that you do not allow young children to pick up the pottery items on display as breakages will need to be paid for.

We thank you for your understanding.
